Philip Kenneson writes, “God forgives with the expectation that we will do likewise; to presume otherwise is to assume wrongly that God has forgiven us merely for our own benefit. God has broken the cycle of vengeance and expects us to do the same. Only by patiently forgiving one another do we have any hope of being that community which God has called us to be.“ (Life on the Vine, 113)
Forgiveness in the face of violence is the most dangerous stealth ‘weapon’ in the Christian arsenal. In a world where fight and retreat are the only perceived options no one is prepared for the one who both stays and forgives. The human problem with being an agent of forgiveness however is that when done right it may cost you your life.
Hover is here: good riddance Godaddy
I have switched davidbrush.com and aliciabrush.com over to my new favorite domain registrar, hover.com.
Hover.com is a breath of fresh air in the registrar eco-system. They include privacy by default, there is no confusing marketing tricking you into buying $40 dollars of needless add-ons, and they are free of the dirty-old-man porn fetishism so prevalent at my previous registrar, Godaddy.
Transfer a .com domain for one full year for just $9.00 with this coupon code: twit
You won’t regret the decision.
By the way, if you do transfer away from Godaddy make sure you start the process 60 days prior to your domain expiration. They LIED (yes outright lied) and said a whois (contact) change requires a 60 day lock to prevent fraud, blaming it on ICANN policy. In fact ICANN in 2008 specifically said a whois change is not a reason for enabling a 60 day lock on transfers. I confronted them with this fact, and after being transferred to a floor manager, got them to back down through persistence and firmness of conviction.
I only have 2 domains left to transfer away and I can kiss Godaddy goodbye once and for all...
